Today we're announcing a subscription agreement with Springer Nature that brings trusted, licensed research from specialist journals across Springer Nature’s Nature portfolio directly into Kosmos.
Scientific publishing now produces millions of articles each year, and as a result, important findings are increasingly buried across disciplines or lost in the gaps between publications.
To close that gap, we built Kosmos, an AI scientist that works alongside researchers to read literature, generate and test hypotheses, design analyses, and iterate on results. Kosmos spans the entire biopharma R&D lifecycle, from the lab to the clinic, identifying novel targets and accelerating regulatory document authoring. Our goal is to get medicines to patients faster. A single Kosmos run can read 1,500 papers, far surpassing the ability of a human scientist in the same time frame. But Kosmos is only as powerful as the literature and data it can access.
Springer Nature is recognized for its impactful science and is widely trusted across the scientific community. Now, when Kosmos reads literature to generate a hypothesis or evaluate a target, it can draw directly from the Nature portfolio as part of that workflow. Kosmos also links access to the Version of Record, so everything it surfaces reflects the most current, corrected version of the research, including retractions and editors' notes where applicable.
We think this is a meaningful step toward how researchers and clinicians work with AI day-to-day. By bringing Springer Nature content into Kosmos, our users can quickly find and connect some of the world’s highest-quality scientific research that otherwise might be overlooked.
We are excited to announce this as our first of several content partnerships. As we bring more publishers into Kosmos, we expect the same pattern to hold: better-sourced literature makes for a better collaborator, and a better collaborator makes for more trusted decisions. On our mission to get medicines to patients faster, this is a critical step forward.
